When it comes to popular family recipes, Fox 8’s Wayne Dawson says his mother-in-law’s banana pudding is a favorite with all of the generations. Clordy Reed created this recipe years ago and says she gets great pleasure seeing her children and grandchildren enjoy it every time she makes it.
Clordy’s Famous Banana Pudding
1 12 oz. can of evaporated milk
6 oz. of water
3 egg yolks
3 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 cup of sugar
1 box of vanilla wafers
Pour the can of milk into saucepan, then fill empty can halfway with with water, pour into pan.
Beat 3 egg yolks, pour into pan, mix liquid ingredients.
Then add 3 tablespoons vanilla extract and 1 cup of sugar, stir well.
Put saucepan on stove for about 5 minutes and stir ingredients over medium heat until the mixture thickens
Get 2 quart bowl, fill bottom with vanilla wafers, slice bananas on top of wafers.
Then pour liquid ingredients on top, then add more vanilla wafers on top.
Pour rest of liquid ingredients on top.
Refrigerate any leftovers
