Native son: Hawaiians reflect on Obama’s presidency

On his 55th birthday, President Barack Obama’s approval ratings have returned to highs he last saw in 2013.

Hawaii voters helped get their native son elected in 2008 and 2012 with huge majorities.

Mr Obama has remained an overwhelmingly popular figure in the island state.
