Weiland, 48, was found dead on December 3 after dying in his sleep on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minneapolis. But Bloomington Deputy Police Chief Mike Hartley said authorities won’t pursue a drug charge against the man because it would be too hard to prove the drugs belonged to him.
Weiland had acknowledged a long history of cocaine and heroin abuse. He was jailed in 1999 for violating his probation after being convicted of heroin possession in 1998, and four years later was sentenced to three years’ probation for drug possession.
