A medical student in India became Miss World 2017 on Saturday at the Chinese Sanya resort.

Receiving the crown from last year’s beauty contest winner, Portorican Stephanie del Valle, Manushi Chhillar (20) is the sixth Indian in history to win at Miss World, a race created in 1951.

The Miss World 2017 podium was completed with English Stephanie Hill and Mexican Andrea Meza.
