This year the World Science Festival will host a stellar line-up of international physicists, marine biologists, environmental scientists and extraordinary thought leaders for five days of thought-provoking discussions, interactive workshops, and theatrical performances that will inspire inquisitive minds of all ages.
The festival will focus on four main themes: Physics + Space – the study of matter and its motion through space; Oceans – the health of our marine environment and the challenges facing water supply and sustainability; Energy – alternatives, supply and diversification; and Robotics – engineering, computers and artificial intelligence.
Across the five days ABC Radio Brisbane will be chatting with some of WSF’s special guests, so if you can’t make it down be sure to tune in on your AM radio, online or via our free ABC Radio app.
Weekends Presenter, Rebecca Levingston will also capture some of the action at the Street Science hub when she broadcasts live from 10am -12pm Saturday 25 March at the Cultural Forecourt in South Bank. There’ll be dozens of free immersive activities for families to enjoy, so come along and participate in hands-on activities and explore the science behind robots, fossils, bubbles, slime, spiders, solar energy, drones, augmented reality, experiments and even explosions!
Be sure to tune into Breakfast with Craig Zonca over the next few weeks too…he’ll be giving away a World Science Festival experience package to a budding scientist!
