A college student has alleged that a newly elected gram pradhan and his family members from Simra Bhogpur kidnapped and raped her in Jaipur for three days. The complaint was filed on Sunday, after which one of the accused was arrested for rape.

According to police officials, the survivor, who’s pursuing her BA, alleged that gram pradhan Anees Ahmed and his wife Ruby along with two other relatives, Naseer-u-din and Afzal, abducted her on December 28 while she was on her way to college in the morning.

The girl alleged that the accused forced her to sniff something which made her unconscious. She regained consciousness late on December 28. As she tried to escape, one of the accused, Naseer-u-din, raped her. Police officials added that according to the girl, she was kept hostage in Jaipur for three days. She was rescued by her family members, with the help of one of the accused’s’ relatives.

Locals claimed that immense political pressure forced the family from lodging a complaint earlier. However, as the girl refused to budge, the family approached the police on December 3. Station officer Shiv Ratan Singh Yadav said, “The victim approached us on January 3 and nabbed Naseer-u-din on the same day.”

Anees Ahmed, the gram Pradhan, has however alleged that this has nothing to do with him. “I have nothing to do with the incident and my rivals are dragging me into this just to bring a bad name to me and my family.” Circle officer Baheri, Pramod Kumar Yadav said, “We are yet to receive the medical reports of the girl. Investigation is underway. A case has been registered under section 363 (Punishment for Kidnapping), 372 (Punishment for rape) and POSCO Act. We have arrested one accused and soon others will be held too.”
