Uganda Cranes striker Emmanuel Okwi has in a new twist of events rejoined his hitherto former side Simba from bitter rivals Yanga.
It emerged on Thursday night that the former SC Villa star had joined Simba on a six-month deal just nine months into his two and a half-year contract with Yanga.
“I have signed a six-month contract with Simba that runs till the end of first round of the league,” confirmed Okwi to supersport.com.
“Yanga terminated my contract so I approached Simba and they were happy to have me back.” Yanga were by press time yet to respond to Okwi’s claims.
Okwi first joined in Simba from SC Villa for $ 40,000 in 2010 before the Tanzanian side sold him to Tunisian side Etoile Du Sahel for $300,000 early 2013.
The temperamental striker, however, absconded from duty citing contractual breaches and came back home early June. He never returned.
Okwi later had a short stint with former side Villa before joining Simba’s sworn enemies Yanga, and now, Simba again.
