ayadeep is a 13 year old child, raised by a single mother, after his father passed away in 2002.
He was diagnosed with a fatal kidney disorder in February 2013 – Hemolytic-uremic syndrome. It is a medical emergency and carries a 5–10% mortality; of the remainder, the majority recover without major consequences but a small proportion develop chronic kidney disease and are forced to go for a kidney replacement.
Jayadeep’s case has reached a state where medical treatment has not borne results, and he’s been advised to go for a kidney replacement. His family is shaken by the ordeal. He was hospitalized and had to undergo some strenuous medical treatments like plasma exchange and dialysis in corporate hospitals namely Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital, Hyderabad and Christian Medical College, Vellore.
Despite the horrible side effects and being on the ventilator for a couple of days, his family has not lost hope. He was discharged in July, 2013 and since then has been on dialysis that could be arranged for at home (Peritoneal Dialysis). However, his health has always been on the decline side with the medical reports suggesting the same. He has now been advised to go for a kidney transplant, for his kidney has not shown any improvement in the last year and a half.

The expenses incurred during the treatment amounting to 40 lakhs, has been a difficult proposition for his mother to overcome single handedly. His family had to literally empty all of their financial resources for the same. The medical treatment is estimated to be around 10 lakhs .
