Hockey World Cup: India face English Test

The loss was heart-breaking as India had grabbed the lead but conceded goals in last minute to squander away the lead. Belgium netted the winner with 12 seconds left on the clock to break Indian hearts.

It may be recalled that India suffered a 0-2 defeat England in the World Hokey League Finals this January in New Delhi.

India, Spain and Malaysia are regarded by many as the three weak teams in Group A. all good teams will try their best to earn full points from them.

Indian coach said that his players must play Indian style of game, which is littered with short-passes and quick inter-changes. But against Belgium, the Indians failed to execute their plans in the first half of the game. Coach Walsh said after the match that the players failed to play Indian style of hockey in the first half.241247-hockey-india-2

Walsh, however, said that the players must look ahead rather than look at the past match. He added that England is a formidable opponent and they will pose strong challenge.
