The Hill Palace police on Tuesday arrested a 50-year-old person from Eroor on charges of raping his daughter.
The arrested has been identified as Haridas. According to the police, the accused had been abusing one of his three daughters for the past couple of months.
On an alert by local residents, the police interrogated the victim the other day and based on her account, a case has been registered. The 23-year-old girl was also subjected to a medical examination, which confirmed the allegations.
The accused has been booked under IPC 376 and 377. He will be produced in a local court on Wednesday.
