Vikram Singh, PDP leader, was the chief guest on the occasion. Girish Sharma in his address said Mother Teresa would be remembered for her love for the ailing and poor. He added that Mother Teresa had received a number of awards for her dedicated selfless service to humanity beginning with the Padmashri Award in 1962 and notably the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.

“Mother was the apostle of peace, brotherhood and service to humanity, particularly the uncared for and the poorest of the poor. Her life and her works epitomise selfless service to the suffering people,” Vikram said.
