Pollsters predict Joyce Banda’s win in Malawi vote

A latest opinion poll says President Joyce Banda and her People’s Party will win the May 20 elections with 42 per cent while her closest rival is DPP’s Peter Mutharika trailing with 23 per cent.

Research Tech Consultants, who conducted the poll, put MCP’s Dr. Lazarus Chakwera at number three with 22 percent while Atupele Muluzi of UDF is fourth with 10 per cent.

The poll says the remaining eight presidential candidates got 172 respondents or four per cent from the the sample size of 3,883.
