Taipei Jingmei Girls High School Wins Another World Championship

Taipei Jingmei Girls High School’s tug-of-war team beat the Gaztedi team of Basque 2-0 to snatch the 540-kg open club title with 12 strait wins in the 2016 World Indoor Tug-of-War Championships in Volendam, the Netherlands, Thursday.

 
Since 2010, Jingmei Girls High has won seven gold medals and two silver medals in world tournaments in Italy, Scotland and Ireland. The latest win brings the gold record to eight.

 
Huang Yun-jing, principal of the school, praised her teamsters for their endurance and perseverance, hoping they will win more medals in the Volendam tourney.
