Sonalee Kulkarni is the fashionable India actress is basically from Pune. After competing in a beauty contest in her college, she was busy with several roles in minor films and advertisements. Her first stage performance was at the age of five years. In 2006, she was offered a role in Kedar Shinde film “Bakula Namdev Ghotale” for which she has won the Zee Gaurav award for the Best Actress. Sonalee became prominent for her role in 2009 Marathi film “Natarang”, which made her famous and aided to establish her own identity. She received wide acclaim for her dance performances in the film.


Sonalee Kulkarni was born on 18 May, 1988 to Manohar and Savinder Kulkarni in the army cantonment of Khadki, near Pune. She has studied at the Army School, Kendriya Vidyalaya and the Ferguson college, Pune. She completed a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Indira School of Communication, Pune. Sonalee has been practising dance from the age of five and trained as a Bharatnatyam dancer during her school years. She speaks fluent Hindi, Marathi, English and Punjabi. She has participated in May Queen 2005 (a beauty contest happening in Pune) and won the 1st Runner’s up with 5 subtitles.

Sonalee was born to Manohar and Savinder Kulkarni in the army cantonment of Khadki, near Pune. Her father served in AMC for more than 30 years and is retired now. Similarly her mother was also associated with the Army. She has one younger brother. She was brought up in a mixed cultural background, as her father is a Deshastha Brahmin from Maharashtra whereas her mother is originally from Punjab.

In Grand Masti
Sonalee Kulkarni made her Bollywood debut in Indra Kumar’s direction “Grand Masti” which was the sequel to 2004 box-office hit movie Masti. Actors Vivek Oeroi, Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani reprised their roles as headstrong husbands looking for an extramarital relation. Television actress Karishma Tanna was also seen in the movie.
